A Note to the Mountain

Standing at your foot
My whispers touch you and rebound.
Every fold of rock leads to your story of endurance.
Your mines and tunnels hold
The mystery of your eternal existence.
Crevices dig deep into your skin
Revealing the wounds and struggles.
Your ridges stand undivided
Singing a song of serenity.
The slender spring emanates from you
Vanishing soon into the green shadow
Of valley and the towering trees.
Let your slopes remain unsullied
That you seek to be untouched.

  1. Jagdish Prakash says:

I live in a valley where there are mountains around me. I wake up with the ray of sun shimmering on the hill which I see from my window.
I therefore appreciate the thrust of your beautiful poem.
